About the blog

Skincare, in plain English.

Lipid Language is a beauty and skincare blog. Some posts are explainers, like what retinol does or how to layer a routine. Others are roundups, such as the best serums for dry skin, where we compare the options and say which ones we’d pick.

The name comes from the lipids in your skin barrier, the fats that help hold moisture in and keep irritants out. Good skincare starts with knowing how skin works, so every recommendation here comes with the reason behind it.
